Year 5 concluded their Ancient Greek topic as 'traders' before half-term. The children enjoyed their lessons looking at how people traded goods across Ancient Greek city-states and with other countries! So much so, that the Year 5 classrooms were turned into market places, in the style of the Ancient Greeks. Each child brought in their own second-hand, wrapped item ready to trade with someone else - mimicking the bartering system in place before the first Greek coins. There were a range of items ranging from books and stationery to scrunchies and home-made bracelets! There were many happy faces leaving with their new items!
