Maths
At Bewdley Primary, we want children to explore, question, explain, trial, spot patterns, generalise, reason and solve problems in Maths. We teach Maths using the White Rose Maths scheme, chosen because, at its core, White Rose Maths seeks to foster a deep and lasting understanding of mathematical concepts amongst pupils. It does this by providing a structured and coherent progression of mathematical concepts and skills, ensuring that every child builds a strong foundation before moving on to more complex topics. The curriculum is organised into small, manageable steps, making it accessible to students of all abilities.
We intend for our pupils to be able to apply their mathematical knowledge to science and other subjects. We want them to know that it is essential to everyday life, critical to science, technology and engineering, and necessary for financial literacy and most forms of employment.
